“I’m scared of losing you.” That was what I said to my mother on her birthday. It was raining. I felt worried and my heart was beating faster than normal. I was scared. But in her eyes, I found hope. I learned a lot about my mother after finding out about her illness. “Never give up, and make sure that whatever you do, you do it from the heart.” Those were her most beautiful words. My mother overcame her illness after years of pain and suffering, and now, every 8th March, I gift her a sunflower to show her that there will always be love.
